From The Principal

Gardenvale Primary School is committed to the academic and personal growth of every student. A focussed curriculum, dedication to innovation and a culture of care, help us meet this commitment. Our school is fully staffed and resourced in the Victorian Essential Learning Standards. A balanced and comprehensive curriculum constantly challenges students to extend their learning.

Student well-being is our highest priority. We aim to instil values, develop self esteem and ensure the safety of our students. We challenge students to be the very best they can be. Our role is to help every student reach their potential.

Developing a love of learning is central to student success. Every one of our teaching programs is designed to enhance the experience of learning. The home and school partnership is recognised as central to individual growth. We welcome and involve parents at every stage of learning.

We aim to be leaders in education. Information technology, primary to secondary transition and the performing and visual arts are just some of the areas in which our teachers and students shine. The sense of community spirit at Gardenvale is very strong and a key feature of the school's culture.

The Gardenvale Primary School community has developed a continuous improvement plan which encompasses the following areas:
- The school's Mission (Spirit of Gardenvale)
- School organisation
- Curriculum, teaching and learning practices and student
  assessment
- Enhancing the teaching and non-teaching professions
- Building on collaborative relationships
- Encouraging initiative
- Building on parent and community involvement
- Providing extended services
- Expanding the use of technology
- Delivering high quality service

It is within this framework that we move our school onward and upward, striving to be the best we can be in all that we do.
